David Swenson and I;
This morning I went to a yoga studio to practice Mysore style Ashtanga yoga - my favourite way of self-practice. It was a relatively quiet class (no wonder, it's mid-week and the class starts at 7am); however, what surprised me is that I was the only woman among men. Does the majority still think that yoga is for women only?...
It got me thinking... why is it that we normally see men attending Mysore style classes, but not so much others.... Is it the discipline that attracts them? The challenge? Or simply the fact that no one bosses them around telling them what to do? I'm not a man, so I don't know the answer to this just yet. Do you?
The fact is - men do yoga! Maybe for now it's mainly Mysore and sometimes vinyasa flow/power yoga - the more dynamic styles - but they do. So, ladies and gents, spread the word! :D
